They shall grow not old as we that are left grow old:
Age shall not weary them nor the years condemn,
At the going down of the sun  and in the morning
We will remember them.

On a raw Saturday morning at the War memorial Neville Edwards (President of the Chipping Norton Branch of the British legion) officiated at a short service of remembrance. The traffic stopped. Father Hull gave the address, John Hannis - looking in great form - gave a reading. The last Post  was sounded to begin a two minutes silence. Reveille was played and the Mayor laid a wreath on behalf of us all. It was a timeless tradition that somehow gets more precious each year. The memorial itself looked magnificent. The plaques have been cleaned and all the names re-painted. Thanks to the Cemetery Committee for a job beautifully done.

On Sunday 11th November the Annual Remembrance Day Parade and Service was held in St Marys Church and the Mayor held a Civic Reception in the Town Hall afterwards.
