KEITH GREENWELL grew up and was educated in the Worcestershire countryside. He is married with a grown up son and daughter and is actively involved in country sports. He spent  14 years with an international management consultancy   Was Managing Director of Royal Worcester and Deputy Chairman of Richton International Inc in New York  Keith has worked in USA and most European countries and has a broad knowledge and experience of businesses of all sizes  He started the Worcester Enterprise Agency creating jobs in the city in the recession of the 80’s   Since joining the Town Council he has been an active member of the Finance Committee and the Town Hall Committee and has recently been nominated as Deputy Mayor. Keith has organised several important grant applications and has taken the lead in two working parties devoted to reviewing the location and funding options for a Community and Youth centre. He believes his financial and management experience can be very useful in optimising the town’s assets and securing grant funding in order to develop local facilities.  Keith is a true conservative but with an independent spirit

Keith has just been nominated the new Deputy Mayor of Chippy.  He is a life-long conservative but stands as an Independent because he has strong ideas of his own and doesn’t want to obey the orders of a big party who often don’t act in the local interest.

Keith has spent his life at the top of British business. He has the right experience to help us win some important battles in Witney – like fighting for jobs, stopping garden-grabbing for development, getting a youth centre, diverting the HGVs, and stopping the vandals

Keith has shown his commitment already in three years successful work on the Town Council. Now he is asking you to give him the chance to represent Chippy’s interests in Witney where some of the big decisions are made.  Keith will fight to get the things Chippy ratepayers say they need but which our District Councillors have so far failed to deliver

We need real jobs in the town When Parker Knoll closed five years ago we were promised hundreds of new jobs plus an Enterprise Centre. Where are all these jobs? Where is the Enterprise Centre? We have funded a Partnership which has achieved nothing.  I helped to start the Worcester Enterprise Agency which helped small businesses to start and created jobs. I can use this experience to help Chippy. Let’s use Greystones for industrial units. Let’s demand the District use their cash mountain to encourage job creation. Let’s insist that the Industrial units get built up at Parker Knoll. Its about time.
Councillor Glyn Watkins says
: Keith is one of the very few local politicians to have recent business management experience. We need his help.

Too much housing development! Every square foot of our town is being covered in concrete. Everything is making way for expensive town houses. Not much for young families. And now the latest development is garden grabbing. Find a house with a big garden, knock it down and build eight flats.  There is a proposal to build over forty flats right in the town centre behind Topside. All this is straining services like drainage, water supply, surgeries and schools. Traffic and parking are impossible. And still the kids of old-established families can’t get a three-bedroom house to rent they so badly need.
Councillor Gerry Alcock says: Keith has  been helping to develop a Town Council plan to try and ensure that WODC planners don’t wreck the character of Chippy.   We need Keith in  Witney to help make that plan happen!

We must stop the vandals  Every resident of this town knows we have a very annoying problem created by a small number of troublemakers who seem to get their kicks from trashing buses, breaking shop windows, vandalising the Lido and the allotments and starting fires all over the place.  This must be stopped. It is our facilities they are wrecking.
Instead of being out on the street, our Police seem to prefer workshops, doing surveys, action groups, 18-point plans and Safety partnerships. Can we please concentrate on sorting out these yobs who are making life a misery for so many people?

We need a community centre  Chipping Norton spends far less per head on leisure activity than Carterton or Witney. We want to see the development of our local facilities to provide recreation and entertainment for everyone -  young people and senior citizens. How can we use the town hall more as a centre for social activity? How can we make the leisure Centre more affordable to all?  We must force developers under planning gain legislation to pay for  buildings and facilities.
Councillor Kristel Withers says : Keith has been deeply involved in a working party which proposes using the old hospital building as a Community and Youth centre. This plan now needs the strongest possible support at District level. Keith is the best person to achieve it for us all.

We must divert the HGVs Heavy HGV traffic -  and the damage and pollution it causes -  is one of Chippy’s biggest problems. The London Road is dangerous now. Just wait until the hospital is built. More pedestrian crossings are urgently needed. There is already an agreed lorry route avoiding Chippy. It must be signposted properly. We also need a weight limit. A few prosecutions will soon drive the main culprits away from the town. Cutting down on HGVs will immediately solve our air quality problems.

Councillor Mike Dixon says  The Buzz word of the day is Green. Well who should we vote for? VOTE GREENWELL for the District Council - the man who will always fight for the interests of Chipping Norton first
