TOWN COUNCIL ELECTIONS 2007

GLYN WATKINS

Dear Fellow Electors

I was born in this town. I work in the town, and this makes me more accessible and enables me to witness the day to day workings of the town.

For regular viewers of Chippingnorton.net looking for up to date news of the goings-on in the town I contribute to the forum under the name of Tracy Hiland. You may have noticed I take a great deal of interest in town politics. You may have also noticed I have been critical of the Town Partnership - particularly in the lack of progress on the designated employment land on the old Parker Knoll site. I have personally written to WODC on many occasions voicing my opposition to the continual granting of permission for change of use on sites in the town from commercial and industrial use to housing without the provision  of new employment possibilities for our younger residents.

I’m standing under the banner of Chippy First. As a group  we are free from outside control of what we say - unlike the mainstream political parties which ought to play little or no part in town council elections. Your vote for all of us under the Chippy First banner will enable us to stand united against mainstream party politics that interfere in the affairs of this town and impose an outside will that rarely benefits us.
