TOWN COUNCIL ELECTIONS 2007

GINA BURROWS

Dear Electors,

'Take pride in your town' would be my message after a year of organising the Charter celebrations.   So many people from outside the town have expressed to me, during this year as mayor, how impressed they are with our facilities, the fact that we remain a 'working town', and the huge amount of events, Charter and otherwise, we put on for our own citizens and for visitors.   Chippy is a great place - that's why I chose to come and live here in 1990 - but there are things that need addressing which is why I joined the Town Council 8 years ago.   Over that time I have worked on the issue of residential parking, smartening up and promoting the town, supporting and encouraging the traders and business community and, as a school governor, concerning myself with the welfare of the young people who grow up in our town and around.   My dayjob is in the University in Oxford.   I am a widow with a grown-up son and daughter and 1 grandson who thinks Chipping Norton is a wonderful place because of the Lido.
