TOWN COUNCIL ELECTIONS 2007

KEITH GREENWELL

Dear Electors

I am standing as a “Chippy First” candidate for the Town council election because as you can see on this site and in the Local Press I no longer believe that National Party Politics has any place in the governance of our Town. Major issues we face are too important to be dictated from Witney or Oxford. We need a real hospital operated and staffed by NHS employed nurses. We have to bring jobs to our community. I will take a robust position on each of these issues!

I was a founding member of the Worcester Enterprise Agency in the Mid 1980’s and we helped micro businesses to start and jobs created. We helped a Japanese machine tool company establish in the City. I will work to bring the same climate and resources to Chippy. We can do it without a partnership composed of a Headmaster and other non business interests. Let’s get rid of it now!  I will vote against any more money for it.

On the hospital I acknowledge the efforts of HAG & HUG but they are now in danger of being influenced by National and County Council Politics. We should avoid this by consolidating into one group with more elected Town Councillors. This group should reject what is on offer; demand answers; and fight for what we really need– a proper hospital. Communities like Pershore have succeeded: So can we. We must be single minded and continue to fight.
