SARAH JANE WILKES
I
have lived in Chipping Norton for fifteen years with my husband Michael
and son Sam. Together we run the lively Blue Boar public house and
restaurant which keeps us busy and out of mischief. The daughter of a
Warwickshire farmer my interests include all sports but particularly
country sports and a passionate belief in retaining our countryside, its
traditions and all the livelihoods that depend on it. I
feel lucky to live in such a great town with some lovely people who share
my love for it. I would like the opportunity to
help keep Chippy a good place to live, to bring up families in a safe
environment, to have good and varied amenities for the young and not so
young, making sure our town centre shops are given every encouragement,
e.g. I am against any superstore on the edge of
town. Employment will be a big question this
year with the bad news from Parker Knoll which
will require a supportive council. One of the
good things about running a public house means that I
am very approachable, so anyone with any moans, gripes, suggestions or
questions can come to see me and over a pint to
discuss them.
