TOWN COUNCIL ELECTIONS 2003 |
MARTIN
HANNANT
I
have served on CN Town Council for 21 years and in that time
I
have had the honour to serve twice as Mayor of our wonderful town in 1984/5
and again in 1994/5.
I
have lived in Chippy since 1966 and completed my education at CN School.
Now
I
am primary school Headteacher and
I
am married to Maggie who is a Reception teacher at St Mary's School. We
have two sons Christopher, 17 and Matthew, 15. Both attend CN School but
Christopher is also a lifeguard at the new leisure centre.
I
think it is a great asset to the town and am very keen that the outdoor
pool should also stay open.
I
have been a member of the Nortonian Amateur Dramatic Society for 34 years
and usually play Dame in the Town Hall pantomime.
I
am also a member of CN Methodist Church where
I
am the Senior Steward.
I
am very eager to support the activities of young people and
I
am a founder member of CADG, Community Awareness Drugs Group.
I
am very keen to support the need for a skateboard park and am a member of
the Recreation committee.
I
am also on the Cemetery
committee.
I
think CN is a superb town with many good facilities.
I
don't want to see it grow much bigger but
I
would like to see more Starter homes being built.
I
am also keen that there should be a lorry by-pass around our delightful
town. With your support
I
will continue to serve the town and its very friendly people to the best
of my ability.
